Following the guidance of our elected officials and Medical professionals.
Please note that TVTA has cancelled all scheduled hikes until further notice.
This is being done in a bid to curb climbing COVID-19 case numbers and spare hospitals from being overrun with COVID-19 cases.
The government has asked that people do not leave home unless it is for an essential reason. The relevant government guidlelines can be found in the following (http://www.ontario.ca/page/covid-19-provincewide-shutdown).
The general advice from CMOH to Ontarians for the Provincewide shutdown is as follows -
Ontarians should stay home to the fullest extent possible
Trips outside the home should be limited and only for essential purposes (accessing health care and medication, grocery shopping, child care, exercise alone or with the people in your household and in the community where you live, walking pets when required and supporting vulnerable community members to meet the needs above)
The Board is asking all members to adhere to the guidelines as spelled out. We want to make sure that everyone remains safe during this shutdown. The Comings and Goings will continue to be used to keep our membership informed. If you have any questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call any Board Member.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact the Safe Hiking Committee by email @ email@example.com
Public group hikes remain cancelled until further notice.
Many trails are open and if you chose to hike, please review and heed the latest recommendations from Ontario and Canada and your local Public health officials.
Canada's Covid-19 guidance is here.
Ontario's guidance is here.
Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to hiking with you again soon.
